Darkness of the night
One star shining so bright
Overwheled in its beauty
Soothing my soul
Read about a star like this
Men traveled far to greet you
Intellectuals telling me you don't exist
This type of love and comfort couldn't come from man alone
Oh! what greatness will you shower from your thrown.

Love Your Neighbor
It is sometimes easy to get stressed out about what you don't have financially; especially during this time of year when you are encouraged to spend so much money for the Christmas season. As Americans we are very inward and take many things for granted such as food, water, shelter, electricity and many other things. Lets pause and think about how many developing countries in the world cherish these things we take for granted. We also need to pause for millions of Americans who also cherish these items that so many of us don't think twice about.
In North Carolina there are about 12,000 people who are counted as homeless. There are 1,000 homeless people in Guilford County alone. Today, I went to a memorial service for the people who died this year due to homelessness; In Greesboro, NC 11 people died because of this spreading epidemic.
I charge everyone who reads this post to take a moment and think about your neighbor who may not have a home or have food to eat. Donate your time and money to get to know your neighbors. We are all connected so if we person is suffering we are all suffering. Christ said "Love your neighbor". All religions have a basis of goodwill toward your fellow man. If you aren't religious then do it because it's the right thing to do. Many of us are living pay check to pay check so know that the face you try to ignore sleeping under the bridge or holding a sign could very well be yours.

Untitled and unscripted...This thing called life
I don't know if this is healthy but i realize that I view my life like it's a movie. I'm the protagonist in search of finding who I am, searching for truth and very open to the idea of love. I have a soundtrack and everything for my day. This could be a problem as I view it as a romantic comedy which has to have a happy ending. *crosses finger* hoping and hoping for a great and unforgettable happy ending. However, I don't know what the ending will be, such is the mystery of life. Now I need a title for my life. But i've found that being the star of the show for life makes life much more thrilling.

26 Skills Every Woman Should Own
I got this idea from another blog, who was inspired by Esquire magazine. In my opinion these 26 skills will enhance your life for the greater:) Enjoy!
1. Play one card game really: well-it can be poker, rummy, spades (then it's just fun)
2. Learn how to take criticism:
3. Basic car maintenance: Know how to change a flat tire, how to change your oil, how to jump a car. Just because you're a woman doesn't mean you can't be familiar with what's under the hood of your car. Trust me, there is nothing sexy about your car being broke down on the side of the road New Years Eve because your tire is flat... I know all about this!
4. Learn to laugh at yourself: Don't take yourself to seriously
5. Have a favorite author and know why he/she is your favorite author
Be able to do something artistic: play an instrument, sculpting, beading, knitting, etc (gives you a hobby)
6. Have some culture: Start by learning about another country, learn the language, customs, cuisine, folklore and their history
7. Have a stress management strategy: People who suffer from stress tend to be overweight and have problems sleeping at night. Instead of stressing indulge in yoga, humor, remember to not stress the small stuff.
8. Be a TRUTH seeker: don't accept what you are told, go see for yourself. Many people go through life without questioning what you are told. The more questions you ask, the more answers you will get.
9. Be able to perform at least one dance style well: Tango, Merengue, Salsa, Jazz, Ballet, African dance...it's never too late to learn
10. Exude confidence: Project strength with your body language. Stand up straight.
11. Budget your money wisely: Know where your money is going (I need to work on this)
12. Stop worrying about what others think of you: Do what you think is right for you and don't alter your behavior simply to please others
13. Have a way to get centered: I do this through worship. If you aren't exactly a spirtitual person you can do this through journaling, meditation, yoga, or spending time in nature. It is very important to connect with yourself.
14. Learn to receive: Women are able to give but find in difficult to receive. You are worth it!
15. Learn to cook: Cooking can be good for your health and your wallet (working on this too)
16. Think creatively
17. Be authentic
18. Set your own agenda
19. Trust your intuition
20. Be unforgettable
21. Learn to Network: Networking is important in fostering relationships and business contacts
22.Nurture others: Love is the greatest of all the commandments
23. Nurture Yourself: While nurturing others, don't forget to nurture yourself too. Take the time to relax, read a magazine, go for a walk, get your nails done. Take care of yourself so you can take care of others.
24. Learn to make quick decisions: The more decision you make the better you'll get at making them.
25. Learn to forgive yourself: Everyone makes mistakes. learn and grow from them "You did what you knew how to do, and when you knew better, you did better."- Maya Angelou
26.. Most important of all!!! Know that you are never to small to make a huge impact on yourself, the community, and the world. Embrace your Power!
"We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn;t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not in just some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our pressence automatically liberates other."- Nelson Mandela
In short, embrace fabulous you!

Dating
I've recently entered into the world of dating. I don't do this much so I do not claim to be an expert in this area. However, I've met the most beautiful, intelligent, driven, arrogant, condescending butthole on this journey. The sad part is idk if I like him or dislike him. We'll see how this turns out.
