Love Your Neighbor

It is sometimes easy to get stressed out about what you don't have financially; especially during this time of year when you are encouraged to spend so much money for the Christmas season. As Americans we are very inward and take many things for granted such as food, water, shelter, electricity and many other things. Lets pause and think about how many developing countries in the world cherish these things we take for granted. We also need to pause for millions of Americans who also cherish these items that so many of us don't think twice about.

In North Carolina there are about 12,000 people who are counted as homeless. There are 1,000 homeless people in Guilford County alone. Today, I went to a memorial service for the people who died this year due to homelessness; In Greesboro, NC 11 people died because of this spreading epidemic.

I charge everyone who reads this post to take a moment and think about your neighbor who may not have a home or have food to eat. Donate your time and money to get to know your neighbors. We are all connected so if we person is suffering we are all suffering. Christ said "Love your neighbor". All religions have a basis of goodwill toward your fellow man. If you aren't religious then do it because it's the right thing to do. Many of us are living pay check to pay check so know that the face you try to ignore sleeping under the bridge or holding a sign could very well be yours.

Peace & Love
