No More Ms. Nice Girl

"Nice people end up on welfare" Kelly Cutrone

Everyone has heard the quote "Nice guys finish last" but apparently nice girls do too. It has become so obvious that nice people ( me included) do not get the respect we deserve. Nice is a synonym for push over.

Everytime someone refers to me as nice or sweet I cringe inside. I immediately think "ugh, they think I'm a punk." Recently, a guy I've been involved with confessed he also likes another woman, but likes me too. What the hell? According to him we are totally different but he likes both of our qualities. She's fiesty and I'm sweet. That made me die a little inside.

I'm a naturally nurtring and caring person but in today's world it is so difficult to be nice and be respected. You can't be nice at work or in relationships. You're supposed to be a generous person but society overlooks naturally good people. Oh well, if you can't beat em join em. On a journey to find a balance between nice and stern.

Peace & Blessings,
( No niceness)

Relationship Strain

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls it has been a long time since I've been in a relationship and in my first week of commitment I have found one thing to be true...cellular phone plans and service can MAKE or BREAK your relationship.

it's frustrating because we're not in the same city and his phone plan sucks. I thought most legitimate cell phone companies nights started at 7 but not his. I'm not that type of person who needs to talk all day. I prefer not to, but a simple text to say "hey, just thinking of you" would be nice. I can't get that because he doesn't have text messages.

Relationships are not easy, both parties have to put effort into making it work. However, conflicting schedules and different cell phone providers is making this more difficult than I expected. So for all my people who are doing the long distance thing AND have different cell phone providers I am in solidarity with you. Stay positive.

Peace & Blessings,
Brooks
